Thursday, Waitangi Day – my favourite day in NZ so far

I’m having the best day of my trip so far!

I was up before sunrise to milk my first cow, saw the most beautiful sunrise while milking. Had an awesome view of Mt Taranaki before it was covered in cloud. Spent 2 hours in the sun watching bands play for the Waitangi celebrations. Heard from Nikki from her boat somewhere off the Philippines, where she’d got phone signal, had a little chat while she watched for pirates. Then off to the Back Beach for a body surf (and a few jellyfish stings) before home to leftover curry!
