We woke up and compared our sleeps – various animal noises and chilliness caused some disturbed sleep. Even so we were up at 7:30, had breakfast, and were ready to head to town at 12:30, no idea how we took so long!!
Was great to see the lodge in the daylight, horses and cows roaming around freely. Bamboo huts dotted around the hillside.
The lodge is 2km from town, so a nice 25 min walk downhill along a dusty red road, we stopped at tour place, Greenhouse restaurant (can’t recommend it highly enough) to decide what to do tomorrow – waterfall and villages was our conclusipn but there was some debate for car which I didn’t want to do or moto which I did. I think a car really cuts you off from the sights and sounds and smells as you drive along. It was happily settled in the evening when Wendy, Susanna and Kalana opted for the car and Lauren and I got the motos.
We had lunch at the Khmer Kitchen – they make a mean omelette!
Pottered around town, saw the old airstrip
Then wandered up to the lodge in time to treat ourselves to a beer, before walking further up the hill to see the sunset – beautiful
Further beers were consumed, I had a text chat with Nikki which involved us trying to do a plank to pressup with feet on a hammock to simulate the trx – still hard, but Lauren did it – show off!!
